Imran claimed that recent abduction of his security in-charge was part of broader plan

Islamabad (Dunya News) - Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday accused his political opponents of orchestrating a campaign of harassment and intimidation against his party's leaders and supporters.

In a series of tweets, Imran Khan claimed that the recent abduction of his security in-charge Iftikhar Ghumman was part of a broader plan to undermine and crush his party (PTI).

Mr Khan alleged that the plan had been hatched in London, where his political opponent Nawaz Sharif had been given assurances that the PTI would be "crushed".

PTI supremo further claimed that people close to him, as well as PTI leadership, were being harassed, abducted, tortured, and faced with "sham cases" across Pakistan in total violation of the constitution and the rule of law.

The former PM also referenced the incident in which the District Police Officer (DPO) took custody of Ali Amin Gandapur despite objections from a sessions Judge in Dera Ismail Khan, stating that he (DPO) would take a contempt charge as orders had come "from above."
